The world’s most ambitious project, Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion flagship business zone NEOM, is set to announce its detailed construction plans within the next two months, said NEOM CEO Nazmi Al-Nasr in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency. “2020 will be the start of the real impetus for NEOM’s visionary projects,” he added.
Within a few weeks, NEOM Academy will begin to provide training to more than 1,000 students from the Kingdom in various sectors such as energy, tourism, transportation, hospitality and many more. The academy will provide job to local residents as well.
Al-Nasr added that NEOM will gradually enter into more partnerships with national institutions based on the requirement for training and qualifications.
NEOM’s journey started in October 2017 when Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced to the world the bold and audacious project to be developed along the shores of Red Sea in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in the tourism sector as part its aim to diversify its oil-dependent economy in line with the objectives of Vision 2030 and NEOM is considered to be one of the most ambitious pillar of the social and economic transformation proposed by the Crown Prince till date.
